Proud.Encouraged.Challenged

Tuesday night I got an opportunity to be a part of the Well:Done Celebration at Puckett’s and the Ryman – honoring Blood:Water Mission. The night was incredible – food, entertainment, friends, and awesome date, who is growing up way too fast BTW. Most of all it was incredible because of what has been accomplished by Blood:Water Mission. 1000 wells or as explained that night 1000 opportunities for communities who did not have access to clean water to have it now.

As the title leads, well, I was all of these things and much more. The night produced in me a huge wave of emotions that I wish that somehow I could have possibly captured, but instead with my daughter at my side I just chose to enjoy. And to dream about how our family and community can continue to be a part of what B:WM does.

Thanks Barak, Jars, and host of other people in the room that I don’t even know. I’m am really proud of you guys; encouraged by your tireless efforts and challenged by your relentless vision.

You guys most definitely deserve a Well:Done!

40 Days – Action w/Blood:WaterMission

Lent is not just about dying

It’s also about finding new life.

Consider Blood:WaterMission

40 Days of Preparations Begin – Ash Wednesday

“I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church,

to the observance of a holy Lent,
by self-examination and repentance;
by prayer, fasting, and self-denial;
and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.”

-Book of Common Prayer, p.265

This invitation is the doorway into Lent. Upon first hearing this invitation it is easy to think, “Well Lent is here again and these are the things I am supposed to do to get through Lent.” But what if it is not just about getting through Lent? Maybe the real question is, “How will Lent get through to me?
