Day One
"William, William. It's 7:11. We over slept."
That's the way that my new journey started this morning and the crazy thing is it was okay. I've told several people that everything would be the same in the mornings. I would get up at 6:30: I would take Ardent to Heritage and then I would go by Starbucks for a jolt of espresso. At that point the day would change. I will no longer head north to Franklin but beginning today I would just stay: turning my focus completely on my community. Well my focus is here, but Yahweh had different plans for my morning rhythm. We over slept. Maybe this is a great place to begin thinking about the new rhythms that my life will take on.
It's day one. The first day that I feel completely released to pastor and shepherd the community of people that God has placed in my life. I have to tell you it feels good. Actually, it feels amazing. I have a "to do" list that is a mile long but I can't tell you how charged I am to embrace it – all of it.
So, here's to hitting home runs on day one. I am very excited about the amazing people Yahweh has surrounded me with and about the journey ahead. It's going to be stellar.
