How to Start a Monday?

Well let’s see…

I’m Proud of AT , and oh, how I love Les. I’ m also excited about this sequel sequel and My girls and I were moved, welcomed, blessed and challenged by our time at SIOC yesterday. And to leave you with a smile not only can the honey badger live through atmospheric re-entry in that suit he was wearing at the Heisman presentation but I think these two gems will get your Monday off to a good start as well, Chewbacca Sings Silent Night and Ron Paul’s Bad Lip Reading Video.

Peace ~

What Are Your Favorite Westerns?

So yesterday I watched 3:10 to Yuma and I really liked it. I’m not much of a western fan but I thought that this one was pretty good. The actors really probably hooked me.   Here’s a random question for Sunday but what are your favorite westerns? I think I have only seen 4 in my life so this list will be pretty easy for me.

Mine would be (in order of appreciation…1 being the best)

1) Young Guns II

2) 3:10 to Yuma

3) Unforgiven

4) Young Guns

I got to see this movie at a screening tonight with the kids.  I haven't read the books but probably will now.  The movie was great!  Brendan Fraser was his quirky/cool/fun self (I really like him in these kind of movies.)  Paul Bettany was good as well in what seemed like a different role for him.  Helen Mirren was Helen Mirren & it was impressive that none of the actors seemed to over power the story, and there are some pretty recognizable faces in this film.

I have not read the books so I can't really comment on how well the movie was adapted but it was a great blend of suspense and Shrek like humor.  My kids all three enjoyed it and several times Aubs & Abram were on the edge of their seats.  There were also some great lines about books, stories and writing.  I think my fave was one where Helen Mirren said something to the affect of books are just waiting to fall in love with whoever opens them.

Oh well, just thought I'd pass this along.  It's one that I feel sure my kids will want to see again.
