Could We Come Up With An Etiquette For Forwarding Emails?

Has anyone seen any kind of decision making matrix to help people work through whether or not they should forward emails? I haven’t seen one so here’s are some quick thoughts.

Do you have some more?

1) Is it true? (do i know this for sure)

2) Is it constructive?

3) What is my motivation? (am i arguing or debating? am i sending this to keep an argument going? do i feel a need to always be right? do i have to win? etc.,)

4) Will it hurt someone?

5) Am I causing or contributing to creating a moment of disunity?

what if…

we thought and prayed and listened a little more before we spoke or forwarded or posted or tweeted.
