Judas

Some of you know that I am intrigued with the Judas story. I am really wanting to dig in soon and do more research into this guy.
I’d love to know your thoughts of Judas? What are the main images, stories, ideas that come to mind when you hear his name?
Are there any ways that you can relate or see modern day examples of him?

When one considers the inflation rate, I am sure I have sold Jesus out for a lot less money than he did. Given that, my mind goes towards God’s grace knowing that I would continue to sell him out, deny him, etc.. without it.
The other thing that comes to mind is how the gospel writers sort of assume you have heard of Judas and his betrayal. The gospels tell the story so that it climaxes at the cross, but in many places where Judas is mentioned there is sort of a side note that describes him saying, “you know the guy who betrayed Jesus.” If it were written as a mystery, one would expect an author to withhold that info until the betrayal occurs, but the gospel writers name the 12 noting Peter, James, John, etc.., and Judas the traitor. (Matt 10:4) Always found that interesting.
For sure.
Your second paragraph is something that interests me as well. The way they talk about him. It’s a tone thing.
