*Last night was simply stellar – THANK YOU to all who were involved.
*Set up only took 45 minutes; tear down took even less (Thank you Spring Hill UMC and Pastor Keith! Thanks to all who came early and stayed a little late!)
*Our worship leader Michael Farren was transparent and honest and it led to a beautiful moment of worship of our God in that sacred space
*Utopia Coffee hit the spot as we waited for kick-off
*Over 100 of us gathered…If you know me, you know that I didn't count..other well trained church goers did though. I must say that on this night I'm glad that I found out how many were there. Why? I feel like what happened was special – unique. Not a dime was spent on marketing. We simply gathered as friends…one person connected to another. This was huge because with it came an intimacy that can't be manufactured and there was no pressure to have "x" amount of people. It was a big group of friends and family who were happy to be together. Some may think, "Well that's an idealistic dream that will never work." Well, it's my dream and it feels too right to do it any other way. No hype, no sales, just people intentionally getting to know their neighbors, learning to love their neighbors and together serving their neighborhoods. Kinda sounds a bit familiar to me.
*Friends that I wasn't expecting showed up. They have no idea what this meant to me and I am really grateful.
*We gave all the kids party squawkers…I know I'm popular with the parents today
*We've been official for only a short time and it was cool to have community service project to put before our church. It will be cool to serve together.
*We have gotten great feedback on the simplicity of it all and on having Sunday OFF!
*We get to do it all again next week!
Thanks to all who were praying. We could feel it.
Peace ~
William
