Sorry I’ve Been Away So Long

Well, blog.  I'm sorry.  I"ve been neglecting you.  See, I've been part of a group that is starting a church and you know what, it's a lot of work.

So since I haven't seen you in a while here's what I've been up to.

*Not watching presidential politics until tonight's debate.  Maybe I wont' again.
*A second grade field trip to the Sam Davis house in Smyrna.  It was an awesome day walking around with my daughter, Aubrey, and her class seeing them learn about cotton, the south and history + I got 3 jars of homemade jelly (plum, crab apple and jalapeno).
*Working on details that you never think about when starting a church like children's security and incorporation and IRS stuff and by-laws and accounting systems.
*Loving my office being Utopia, Starbucks, the office in my house or my deck.
*Appreciating old friendships going deeper and new friendships getting stronger.
*Enjoying getting more time daily with Meredith & the kids since I am not on the road.
*Cleaning the lot next door that won't be built on.  We are going to try & plant some trees and put out some benches.
*My first homeowner's association meeting – Wow!  It was everything I thought it would be.
*Loving talking about God with my family & friends all week long and having a real family day on Sundays.
*Making new friends.
*Talking about our new church.
*Praying more.  A lot more.
*Being not very good any more at NCAA Football online
*Loving college football season
*Amazed at watching people, stirred by God, step up to make a difference in their community.
*Spending more time at my kids schools.
*Catching up on my reading. Lately – The Same Kind of Different as Me; The World to Come, 11 (I would suggest all three of these books.)
*Forcing myself to go to sleep at night because I'm so excited about my life.

In all, loving where I am.  I love what I am doing.  I see God doing some cool things.  I am honored to have some great friends and an awesome family.  I'm a blessed/lucky/fortunate guy!
